SOFT-TOUCH BASSWOOD, NON-TOXIC The barrels are made of environmentally-friendly basswood, with a soft-touch finish that is very easy to hold and sharpen. The non-toxic shavings can be placed directly into compost piles and will break down quickly and safely.

IMPROVED 3.8MM CORES, MATTE FINISH, LARGE BOLD FONT The improved 3.8mm cores are rich, creamy, and velvety, made with the highest pigments and binders for smooth blending and layering. The barrel paint has a matte finish to prevent glare, and the large, bold font makes the color names and numbers much easier to read.

UNDERTONE CODE, CONSECUTIVE NUMBER Each pencil in the SJ Gold Edition is numbered in consecutive order and placed according to its analogous trio on the color wheel. The color name and a code for the undertone color are also printed on the pencil, making matching pencils for seamless blending as simple as reading the number.

PRE-SHARPENED SHORT TIPS, LESS BREAKAGE We pre-sharpened the pencils to short tips to minimize breakage during shipping and use. The long-lasting cores are glued into the pencils to prevent shattering.
